Motov8 aims to increase education and social awareness amongst young people by channelling their energy into educational courses based around the mechanics of cars, motorcycles and bicycles.
Its efforts are now being backed by Worcestershire County Council, as part of the authority’s drive to reduce the amount of waste from the county going to landfill.
The council is asking people to delve into the back of their sheds and garages to find any old or unwanted machinery that could be donated to Motov8.
In particular, the charity is looking for non-electrical items such as petrol mowers, strimmers, chainsaws, generators and rotovators, for use in practical learning sessions.
Councillor Derek Prodger, the county council’s cabinet member for the environment, said: “This is a great way to help reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill and at the same time contribute to a really worthy Worcester charity which is tackling some important issues to help our young people.”
