Youngsters have crash course in driving safely

20th Mar 2009

Youngsters have crash course in driving safely

The event was organised by Motov8, a Worcester charity working with disaffected young people, and was the penultimate stage of the Drive Wise course.

Students from Worcester College of Technology’s theatrical make-up and costume department added reality to the day by creating fake wounds and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were on hand to give advice.

The Revd Mark Badger, managing director of the charity, said: “We have been looking at aspects of road safety and how distractions affect people when they are driving, stopping distances, reaction times and mechanical defects. This session has been about showing them what happens if it goes wrong.”

As a reward for hard work, the students spend their last session having a driving experience on an airfield
