The Recycle Project
One of our key aims is to increase employability by providing a period of 'sheltered work placement' during which young people can learn responsibility and the appropriate behaviour and skills needed not only to get a job but to keep it!
The recycle project offers and excellent opportunity to engage young people in positive practical activities which provide educational, social and environmental benefits.
Through collection and refurbishment of unwanted bicycles motov8 is able to provide employment and training for young people who receive continual support and tuition with the aim of successful employment and positive contributions in the wider world.
Motov8 staff encourage the young people who work with to be creative, resourceful and entrepreneurial by offering refurbished bikes and parts for resale
The project works closely with the County Council and other partners to promote recycling and environmental awareness.
For example motov8 has cycle outlets supplying low cost refurbished bicycles and parts at Worcester Resource Exchange and on the St John's Campus of the University of Worcester.
The charity also runs a bicycle loan scheme on behalf of Worcestershire County Council which aims to reduce car use within Worcester and the county, promoting more sustainable options.
