The young people who are referred to us often come as a ‘last chance’ option and what they achieve whilst they are with us makes a real difference to their lives.

 

In addition to an overall attendance of 88% we have a proven track record in raising standards and achievement through learners gaining qualifications and improving interpersonal skills.

Our results are achieved by:

Setting clear but achievable targets and boundaries

Challenging patterns of criminal / anti-social behaviour and offering positive alternatives

Operating a ‘Mentor Support’ programme

Developing a team ethic that relates to both classroom and workshop activities

Encouraging learners to become ‘shareholders’ in the project

Embedding, Language, Literacy, ICT and Numeracy into all activities

Placing strong emphasis on soft outcomes such as cause and effect and self awareness

Forming good working relationships with schools and other specialist providers in order to promote a holistic approach to re-engagement
